Appointments are now available to book for flu vaccinations for children who are aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2023 (born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2021).
Invitations have been sent out by text message with a self-book link but if this causes a problem please feel free to call the surgery on 01451 830625.
This vaccination is recommended to help protect children against flu. Flu can be an unpleasant illness and sometimes causes serious complications. Children under the age of 5 years have the highest rate of hospital admissions due to flu.
Vaccinating children will also help protect more vulnerable friends and family by preventing the spread of flu.
The vaccination is free of charge. Children will be assessed to confirm the most suitable vaccine when they come to the practice. For most children it is given as a nasal spray which is a quick and painless spray up the nose.
