Covid-19 Symptoms and GP Appointments?

We have stopped temperature checking patients as they arrive for face to face appointments at the surgery given the general easing of the restrictions, due to the pandemic.

We are also beginning to make more appointments available which are not triaged in advance by a health care professional.

Because of this it is very important for patients with Covid-19 symptoms to mention this when booking their appointment / before entering the building.

A high temperature if one of the main symptoms of Covid-19.

We have included a link below about how to take your temperature (or that of a child) as requested by a patient last week.

We acknowledge that not everyone has a thermometer at home so we would very much appreciate patients telling us if they (or anyone accompanying them) feel hot to touch on their chest or back, before attending / entering the building.

If you have Covid-19 symptoms this does not mean that you cannot be seen if you have urgent worries. We have retained the marquee in the car park and have facilities to consult with patients face to face, confidentially using this, if necessary. If further examination is required patients can be seen inside the building following which the consulting room will be quarantined and deep cleaned.

Thank you in advance for your support in helping to keep everyone safe during this time.
