Coronavirus Vaccination Programme Update – 26th January 2021

There are just a small number of patients aged over 75, registered with the surgery, who have not received their first dose of Coronavirus vaccination. We believe that we have been in contact with all of these patients and expect to be able to offer appointments soon.

Likewise the majority of patients who are housebound, resident in care homes and those who are clinically extremely vulnerable have been vaccinated.

If you (or someone you care for) fall into one of the above groups and we have not been in touch please contact us on 01451 830625.

The number of vaccines we are being allocated in the North Cotswolds has slowed down somewhat (as we are doing so well and to allow other areas to catch up). We are however confident that we will meet the Government’s target of vaccinating all those over 70 by the middle of February (read the timeline below).

We are aware that letters are being sent out centrally reminding patients to book their appointment. The message for our patients remains the same – we will be in touch when we are ready to book your vaccination. Please do not call the surgery and prevent others, who are unwell, getting through.

If you have a mobile phone you will likely receive a text message invitation otherwise we will contact you on your landline.

We are adhering to the advice from the UKs Chief Medical Officers regarding the 2nd dose appointments. We are currently expecting to offer these in the 12th week following the first dose appointment. These decisions are being made centrally and are out of our hands. The GPs in the North Cotswolds have no discretion to offer 2nd doses to anyone. As soon as we are able to schedule the appointments or have any further information we will be in touch with those who are waiting.
