We are aware that there is currently an excessive waiting time for patients to see certain GPs. We are working hard on reducing this time by employing additional resource.
However, so far this week we have had 25 patients not turn up for their booked appointments - 3 with a doctor and 22 with a member of the nursing team.
We are keen to understand why we have seen an increase in "Do Not Attends" and would be interested in any feedback.
Are patients feeling coerced into coming to the surgery for medication reviews / reviews of their chronic disease that they don't feel are necessary, are appointment times not convenient for certain procedures, are text message reminders not getting through? Did patients making appointments in 2017 not have a 2018 diary / calendar to record them in?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and will be looked at and changes considered. Feedback can be given by using the suggestions button on the top left hand side of the surgery home page.
In the meantime we will be telephoning all patients that do not attend to obtain their feedback too.
