Swine Flu Update 

If you have flu-like symptoms and are concerned that you may have swine flu:

  • Stay at home and check your symptoms on the NHS Choices website

  • If you are still concerned that you may have Swine Flu please stay at home and call the surgery for an assessment of your symptoms.
  • You should call your GP directly if:
    - you have a serious underlying illness
    - you are pregnant
    - you have a sick child under one year old
    - your condition suddenly gets much worse
    - your condition is still getting worse after seven days (five for a child)

Swine Flu Vaccination Programme 

 

Patients Over 65 With Underlying Health Conditions and Parents with Children Under 5 Are Now Invited To Make An Appointment For Vaccination
 

The surgery invites ALL patients with underlying health conditions (see below), pregnant women, those whose immune system is compromised and children under 5 years to make an appointment for vaccination.

 Definition of “underlying health condition”:-

·       chronic (long-term) lung disease,
·       chronic heart disease,
·       chronic kidney disease,
·       chronic liver disease,
·       chronic neurological disease (neurological disorders include motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease),

·       diabetes mellitus.

·       patients who have had treatment with cortico-steroids for asthma in the past three years

If you fall into the above criteria and have not spoken to the surgery please contact the Reception Desk on 01451 830805 between 10am and 12 noon or 3pm and 4pm either to make an appointment or to let the GP’s know that you do not want to have a vaccination.
 
Patients that do not fall into the above priority groups are politely requested to refrain from contacting the surgery about a vaccination until they are contacted.
